show Abstracthide AbstractLow temperature severely influences potato production since cultivated potato (Solanum tuberosum) is frost sensitive. However, the mechanism underlying freezing tolerance of potato is largely unknown. In the present research, we studied the transcriptome and metabolome of the freezing-tolerant wild species Solanum acaule and freezing-sensitive cultivated S. tuberosum to identify the main pathways and regulatory factors related to freezing tolerance. Four-week-old plantlets were used and samplings were collected at 0h and 12h after the two genotypes were treated at -1°C. The samplings were collected for RNA extraction and transcriptome analysis.
